Gaylord - Sign of Good things to come for Commercial Real Estate Market

Spring of 2008 brings the hope for a turn around in the Gaylord Michigan Commercial Real Estate Market.  New projects like the I-75 crossing at McCoy and Millbocker Roads, the Meijer complex and the continued work on the redevelopment of the Georgia Pacific complex are all positive steps toward recovery from what has been a downward trend.  These projects bring not only end user jobs to the region but also much needed construction jobs to get them built.  It was great to hear that a local company, M&M, has won the bid for the I-75 project! 

The Street Scape on South Otsego Avenue from Main Street to Second Street has brought a much improved look to the area along with the investment by the owners of the Alpine Oven, Spud Warehouse and Ace Hardware.  There have been a number of demolitions of obsolete structures along the corridor as well that will continue to invite growth in that direction.

M-32 west has also seen redevelopment of unused or empty space with the additions of Culver's Restaurant and Bosman's Merchantile at the former Walmart Plaza.  Occupancy rates on the rise and new construction are great indicators that Gaylord is back on track.  We are very proud of the progressive business community that we all work so hard to promote and enhance in Gaylord, Michigan.
