October is here and it’s time to carve those pumpkins! This is something that I always look forward to doing, but usually fail at doing. I get all these cool designs together and start working on carving my pumpkin out only to step back and see that my pumpkin looks like a mess. My lines aren’t connecting and my design just happened to get 5 times bigger then the stencil. I usually get too frustrated to finish it and end up putting uncarved pumpkins on my porch. Now that’s no fun! But I ran across this article online and I think its genius! Take a look at this hassle free way to carve a pumpkin!
*Make sure you cut a circle around the pumpkin stem and lift off the lid to remove the seeds from the inside of the pumpkin.
*Find some cookie cutters that you want to use for your design.
*Place your cookie cutter on the pumpkin and tap firmly with a rubber mallet until most of the cookie cutter is in the pumpkin shell.
*Remove the cookie cutter, using needle-nose pliers if needed.
*With a small serrated knife finish cutting out the shape from the cookie cutter, making sure to cut all the way through the rest of the pumpkin shell.
*Take out the shape you just cut out.
*Add a candle inside of the pumpkin.
This process seems a little less frustrating and I think I am going to have to try it out this year!
