Personal Interests

I enjoy photography, and each year I enter photos in the Ottawa County Fair. Most are of the beach, our pets and boats. Some have received first prizes.

I can't imagine life without owning a boat. Sailboats large and small, ski boats and dinghys. Lake Michigan is a place to escape to serenity.

My husband and I have owned 3 restaurants in the area, including the Schooner II in Holland, the Lighthouse in Zeeland, and currently the Captain Terry's Galley in the lower level of the Herrick District Library in Holland.

Personal Background

I became a Realtor/Associate Broker in Holland, Michigan in 1980.

My family and I live in a cottage built in 1902 called the "The Laughing Squirrel," near Lake Macatawa. Great sailing and the beauty of the shoreline of Lake Michigan made Holland/Macatawa my family vacation destination for many years prior to moving here. I enjoy sailing, swimming, hiking, and photography.

Prior to being a realtor, I was a teacher for 10 years. I taught at Newton High School in Newton, MA, Forsythe Middle School in Ann Arbor, MI, Stephens College in Columbia, MO, and Anchorage Middle School in Anchorage, KY. Subjects I taught were General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physiology and Anatomy and Homeostatic Mechanisms.

Professional Background

I have been active in real estate for nearly 30 years. I have attended many state conventions and obtained several designations. I have been chairman of several Association of Realtors committees, including Education. I also have been elected to the Board of Directors.

My greatest satisfaction comes from helping clients solve great needs, whether they be obtaining a long desired first home, or selling a property that has become a financial burden.

Professional Interests

I enjoy helping first time home buyers through the exciting process. I own a bed and breakfast, and have helped clients buy and sell properties suitable for such a business. I have helped builders develop condominium projects. I am interested in teaching buyers about the complicated process of owning a unit in a condominium.
