Preparing to sell your house!

When preparing your house to sell, you need to first take a good look at it.   Look at it as if you were the buyer.  Do the walls need to be freshly painted in a neutral color, does the trim need to be replaced?  Improvements should be done with the intention of making a better presentation, rather than trying to recoup the money you just spent.  Most likely it was something you should of done a long time ago anyways.  The next thing to do is to "declutter"!  Pack up seasonal clothing and holiday dishes.  If possible remove some of the furniture; removing furniture gives the room a larger appearance.  Remove personal pictures from the walls and magnets from the refrigerator.  Give the buyer an opportunity to visualize their own furniture in the room and pictures on the walls. Clean your refrigerator and oven, the garage too!   If you would like more suggestions on preparing your house to sell you can email me at carol.young@cbgreatlakes.com.  Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, check out my YouTube video and remember Northern Michigan is the place to be!
