Welcome to my Website

and the Greater Holland Area!

I grew up in Grand Haven and moved to Holland to attend Hope College. Since I've lived and worked in the Holland area and have been selling Real Estate for over 35 years. In that time I have had the privilege of working with over a thousand home sellers and buyers. I offer you the benefits I have gained with working with all these satisfied clients and would love to be your "Real Estate Solution."

Personal Background

I grew up in Grand Haven and in 1968 came to Holland and attend Hope College. While attending Hope I worked for the Holland Sentinel as a photographer and invested in two family houses. In 1972, I became a licensed real estate agent for Galien Realty. A year latter I married Tena Albers. We have two daughters, Christina Rumsey of West Michigan and Patricia Saul of Georgia. I started with Woodland Realtors in 1984 and became a partner in 1989. During this time I was recognized as a top producer. Woodland was sold Coldwell Banker Schmidt in 2006. Until ten years ago we lived in our home on the south side of Holland. Then our daughters went off to college and we purchased a condominium in Windemere, south of Zeeland where we live today.

Personal Interests

When not selling real estate I enjoy many hobbies and interests. My wife, Tena and I enjoy playing with our two and half year old granddaughter, Madelyn. We often travel or take our motor home to the Grand Haven state park. I love to get up early, walk out on the pier and fish for perch or salmon. In the fall I love to surf fish for Steelhead on the shores of Lake Michigan or Rainbow trout in Crystal Lake near Beulah. Hunting deer and morel mushrooms are among my favorite activities too.

At home I love to be in the kitchen, cooking. One of my favorite things to make are different types of sausages. Out doors I love to cook on the grill and with cast iron Dutch ovens. If you stop by on the right day you might find me smoking fish, sausages or other meats. I have a large collection of cookbooks and have compiled three. One called "Woodland Cooks," another for my Mother's 90th birthday, "Fern Saul's Family Favorites" and a third for our daughter Christina's wedding.

Photography, growing peonies and genealogy are also on the long list of hobbies and interests.
