Welcome to my Website and I'm looking forward to working with you!

Hello, and welcome to my website. Hopefully you will find this visit to be both enjoyable and worthwhile. From here you will be able to review all my personal listings and the listings on the whole MLS system.

My business card reads "Building Friendships Through Service, Honesty & Trust" and it is to that end that I conduct my business relationships. Even though we tend to use more and more high tech approaches to doing business these days, I still enjoy the personal touch the best. I like to meet and talk with my customers first hand.

It can be difficult at times to build friendships and trust through e-mails and text messages. These types of communication do not enable me to see the smiles, frowns or emotions of my clients as we view the many homes that are on the market. I believe I can better identify the type of home you wish to find by listening to your comments and watching your faces as we go through each home together.

So after you've had the opportunity to review these listings on-line, please give me a call. I'm looking forward to meeting with you. Don.

Professional Background

I've been a Realtor for over 7 years and have been enjoying it immensely. The best part is meeting with people like you, sharing information about our various backgrounds and families, and listening to your wishes and needs for locating a home that totally meets your expectations.

I was a design engineer for 35 years at a local company which manufactured machine tools for the automotive and appliance industry. I started as an entry level draftsman and worked my way up to chief engineer. It was a very pleasant and exciting experience as it provided me with the opportunity to travel to many different places. I enjoyed finding new ways to produce better quality products, more efficiently than ever before.

But eventually the overseas competition gained the upper hand in our market and our sales suffered. As part of a condsolidation effort the company closed our local facilty and moved it out of state. With my roots here deep and growing I elected to stay put and enter a new field in real estate. I have found it very satisfying and exciting as well.

Personal Background

I grew up just south of Holland and right across the street from what is now Wildlife Unlimited (The Outdoor Discovery Center). I lived in the area all my life and now live a few miles to the south and east.

I graduated from a Hamilton High School in 1965 and then graduated from Western Michigan University in 1969, majoring in Aviation Engineering Technology. I received my private pilots license while there. After that I married a wonderful Holland girl, had four wonderful children, and now have seven wonderful grandchildren.

Professional Interests

I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life, finding them a home of their choice, and then maintaining communication through the following years. It's like having a big extended family.

Personal Interests

I have a "lot" of interests, both as a participant and a spectator. Here are some of them.

Tennis, softball, football, soccer, gymnastics, fishing, volleyball, basketball, hunting, shooting, traveling, hiking, biking, flying, antiques, cars, music (I play the guitar), etc, etc.

However, nothing's better than playing with my grandkids!

Education

BS degree from Western Michigan University.

Majored in Aviation Engineering Technology.

Community Involvement

I was president of the Bentheim Elementary School PTO for a few years.

I served on the Hamilton Community School board for 4 years.

I served as an elder for some of the churches we have attended over the years.

I was player/manager of a men's sotball team for 12 years.

I was manager of a woman's softball team for 21 years.

I helped organize a local tennis tournanment for 4 years.

I am now the men's assistant varsity tennis coach at Hamilton High School.
