How are Holland Schools Rating?

Grading our Area Schools

Any time a family selects a new home, one of the first things they evaluate is the local school system. Education is the primary consideration, after the house itself, and is one that can make or break a real estate transaction.

With that in mind, below is the most recent state evaluation of Holland's school systems including Zeeland Public Schools.

For the 2006-2007 school year, the Holland City School District received an average grade of C+, Black River Public School received a grade of A, and the West Ottawa Public School District received an average grade of B. Zeeland Public Schools received an average grade of B+, Vanderbilt Charter Academy received a grade of A, and Eagle Crest Charter Academy received a grade of A, as reported by the Composite Grade under Education YES! and the AYP Status and Improvement Phase under the No Child Left Behind Act.

Michigan also released results under the federal No Child Left Behind Act, indicating that 100% of Holland's schools including Zeeland Public Schools met federal standards, which measure achievement among minority subgroups within a school. Overall, Holland offers nine A schools, eight B schools, six C schools, and seven ungraded schools. While Zeeland offers four A schools, five B schools, and two ungraded schools.
