Welcome to my Website

Hello, my name is Ivan Wilde and I am the Director of Sales with Coldwell Banker Schmidt in the St. Ignace, Michigan office.  We are the first city you come to after crossing the Mighty Mackinac Bridge.  This is a very popular tourist and vacation destination.  Mackinac County is a very large county taking in Mackinac Island, Bois Blanc Island, Round Island and the Le Cheneux Islands.  It's length exceeds 135 miles from one end to the other.  We have waterfront properties for sale on both Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, not to mention all of the beautiful inland lakes and rivers.

Myself and all of the agents have practiced real estate for several years.  Our professionalism and attention to all of the necessary details inherent in all real estate transactions, have made us an office that stands head and shoulders over our competition.  If you or someone you know is considering buying or selling please take the time to come in and talk with one of our agents.  You will be glad that you did and will quickly find that it was time well spent.  We have access to all of the real estate listings in Northern and Upper Michigan. We also have a waiting list of qualified buyers.

Personal Background

I was born in the city of St. Ignace and spent most summers here.  My Dad helped build the Mackinac Bridge.  After it's completion we moved to his hometown of Hart, Michigan.  I graduated from Hart High School and went to work for General Telephone as a lineman for a few years.  I then fullfilled my childhood dream of becoming a police officer.  I went to work for the Oceana County Sheriff's Department as a road patrol deputy and continued to raise in rank up to Detective/Sgt.  I also attended Muskegon Community College and Western Michigan University and received my degree in Criminal Justice.  I moved on and was employed as an Investigator and Warrant Officer for the Muskegon County Friend of the Court.  I then took a position with the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department, rising in rank to Detective.  I retired from the department in 2001.  My wife and I had always vacationed in the St. Ignace area and we decided to purchase a motel and move to the area.  We bought the Straits View Motel just two miles from the city limits on U.S. 2 and have been totally enjoying motel ownership for several years.  I discovered that I might have retired a little too early because I still had a love for law enforcement.  I am now employed on a seasonal basis with the Mackinac County Sheriff's Department.  I am in the recreational vehicle division.  Yes, that's right, I can now patrol with snowmobiles, orv's and boats and get paid for doing it.  I should have been in that division much sooner in my career.
