Some interesting economic news coming from Michigan Governor Rick Snyder's office today...

In the Northern Lower Peninsula we usually trail the overall economic trends of the State, but this is still a good trend to see. As of  December 2014, Emmet County had an unemployment rate of 7.3%. The rate usually hits it's peak around February before dropping due to the seasonality of the workforce. For comparison, Michigan had a 6.3% unemployment rate for the same time (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Check out the infographic below for more information.
