Homeownership rate hits 25 year low

The seasonally adjusted U.S. homeownership rate declined to 63.8% in Q1 of 2015. This marks the lowest rate since Q4 of 1989. At its peak in 2004 homeownership reached 69.4%. The residential vacancy rate is near a 20 year low while housing formation has increased.
