That's a-DOOR-able!

“You never get a second chance to make a first impression.”

This quote is true for everything from first dates to homes. The front door of your home is the first impression your guests have of what your house will be. What kind of impression do you want to give? I love unique front doors. They are your first chance to personalize your home and show everyone who you are. There are many ways to make your front door unique.

One of the first and most trendy ways to make your front door pop is by adding color! Painting your front door is an easy way to make your house stand out in the neighborhood. Having a colored front door can also be used to tie in your outdoor furniture and decor. With a splash of paint, your house can go from boring to bold in a day!

Do you live in an association with rules against painting your door? Have no fear! I have another option for you. Instead of painting the outside of your front door, just paint the inside! It will still be one of the first things your guests see and it will help bring together the color scheme of your home.

Not everyone wants to join the current door-painting trend. There are a few other possibilities for unique front doors still ahead. Iron and wood make great, traditional alternatives for standard front doors. With just a little money and a little creativity you can get a great front door.

One of my personal favorites, and my dream for my future family home, is a Dutch Door. I love the idea of being able to keep half of the door open to the neighborhood so I can keep an eye on the kids and make all the neighbors jealous of my awesome and unique door. Dutch doors are a great way to let the breeze in and still get the security of a closed door.

I know, all too well, that some people aren’t able to commit to a brand new door or a paint color. I have trouble with that sort of commitment, myself! If you still want to have a fun door, you can! Vinyl decals are a great solution to that problem. You can make your own or buy pre-made decals from websites like Etsy. They are customizable, weatherproof, inexpensive, and removable!

I hope you enjoyed this article. Feel free to send me pictures of your fun front door! Please comment and share this post! Thank you! And remember – Be Distinct!
