Want a Little More Culture in Your Life? Best Music Venues around Grand Rapids
Intersection- Larger venue located near the corner Cherry and Grandville Ave. The Intersection attracts national acts as well as local bands. Aside from being a concert venue, this place doubles as a nightclub well known for its "Mega 80s" nights.
Orbit Room- Mainly known as a concert venue, but occasionally hosts sporting events and comedy shows. Attracts national bands. Located near Centerpoint Mall, corner of 28th st and East Beltline.
Pyramid Scheme- Mid-sized venue that attracts regional and indie bands. Located in the Heartside neighborhood downtown on Commerce. Just opening this past April, this bar features beers from different breweries including Bells, Shorts, and New Holland. Exciting decor, cheap drinks, and good music.
Rocky's- Small bar on Ottawa south of Leonard, but hosts all kinds of local music. The sound is always good here, but the drinks are on the steep side and they charge a cover.
Mulligan's- Solely a bar until recent years when they renovated the back/side room into a stage. While the sound was pretty terrible at first, Mulligan's has consistently improved in this area. The crowd is rowdy here and this bar has the cheapest in drinks in town! Located in Eastown near the corner of Lake Dr and Wealthy.
Billy's Lounge- Practically across the street from Mulligan's, Billy's is another fun bar/venue. Billy's mainly features Blues inspired bands, but also dabbles in Rock and Funk.
