Selling Real Estate during the Holiday months

A common misconception is that real estate does not sell during the holidays.  As a results, many sellers take their homes off the market thinking that buyers disappear during the holidays.  Our experience is that although many buyers and sellers do “check out” during the holidays and rightfully so with many family obligations including shopping, holiday parties and get-togethers.  On the other side of the coin, the sellers that remain on the market experience much less competition and the buyers that continue to look for homes during this busy holiday season are “serious buyers” and they need to find a home and move.  What we have experienced at our own company and in our own personal real estate business is that sales definitely occur during this time period as long as you stay in business.  Sometimes the lack of competition in the marketplace actually helps you to sell closer to market value or above.   To view all the listings currently for sale in the West Michigan real estate market go to www.MitchCripe.com. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
