One of childhood memories of growing up in the West Michigan area is that of hometown favorite, Hudsonville Ice Cream. There were many folks I knew who would only choose this brand of ice cream and many Hudsonville, Jenison, Grandville, Byron Center and West Michigan homes would only stock the "round pack" version of the vanilla ice cream.
My family loves to camp and we spend lots of time in the Michigan State Parks camping, biking, hiking, swimming and boating. The concessions within the Michigan State Parks feature Hudsonville Ice Cream which is delivered to them throughout the state. It's always nice to find that taste of home when we stop for a treat.
Now the Michigan State Park system and Hudsonville Ice Cream have teamed up to offer an Ice Cream Contest in which folks can submit a recipe and name for a new flavor of ice cream to be featured by the company. Judging will take place in February by a panel of young judges ages 8-18. All involved are hoping for lots of Michigan produce and products to be featured!
So here's your chance to add to the Hudsonville Ice Cream featured flavors and compete for a prize that includes free camping, lots of free ice cream and more!
