Jenison MI is an unincorporated community in Ottawa County, Michigan with a mailing zip code of 49428.  While it is a census designated place it is not an incorporated municipality and lies within Georgetown Township, Michigan which is an incorporated township in Ottawa County MI. In 2010  the population was 16,538. Largely a bedroom community nestled within the bend on the Grand River as it winds its way toward Lake Michigan, this area is popular because of its numerous parks,  proximity to highways, Grand Rapids and easy access to the lakeshore communities.

The area associates itself around the Jenison Public School system though there are other private and parochial schools within the area.

JENISON MI SCHOOL DISTRICT REAL ESTATE ACTIVITY IN 2012

Homes Sold: 366

Highest Priced Sold: $577,500

Average Sale Price: $126,059

Median Sale Price: $124,000

Due to limited inventory as buyer confidence returned in 2012, inventory was and remains limited.  As a result days on market dropped in 2012 and prices are edging up as buyers are finding they need to compete on desirable properties.

Sellers will benefit from the reduced inventory and buyers will be wise to shop early in 2013 to avoid the increased competition of the spring market buyers.  Interest rates remain very low and there is still MSHDA credit money available for those buyers who have not owned a home or have not owned one in the last 3 years.
