Personal Background

I have lived in the Grand Rapids area my entire life. For the first 23yrs I lived in the Plainfield and 4 mile area. Then after I was married we moved to Standale, and that is where I currently live.

I have been married for 19yrs and have 2 wonderful boys, age 17 and 13. They attend Grandville schools and have many interests in sports and other activities.

I was involved in the Boy Scouts of America for 10yrs as a Cub Master, a Den leader, and a mentor to all who needed me. I was also involved with the GR Ford Counsel as a chairman and worked with many people on day camps as co-chairperson and station directors.

Volunteer through GRAR at Gods kitchen for the past 1 1/2 yrs.

Community Involvement

I'm involved with the community in many ways and all of which are 100% volunteer. I'm a volunteer Police officer with the City of Walker. I'm also the Vice President of the Grand Rapids Steelheaders which is part of the MSSFA ( Michigan Salmon and Steelhead Fishing Assoc). I have also been a volunteer at Gods Kitchen for 1 1/2 years now and was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for 10 years.

Personal Interests

I have many interests and try to pursue them as much as possible. You know what they say, "all work and no play makes me a boring person". Well I'm here to tell you that I'm not boring at all.

 My biggest love is fishing, catching or smoking. I like every kind of fishing there is, but none more important then fishing on Lake Michigan. If there is a more beautiful lake out there then Michigan, please let me know. I will be going there soon. I pier fish, river fish, small lake fishing, ice fishing and any other kind I can do, for any kind of fish I can think of. I'm not picky at all, and still hold the philosophy that a "bad day of fishing is still better then a good day at work". It puts us in contact with God and nature and gets me in touch with all that is pure.

I can also be found on the ski slopes in the winter, and have traveled to many "hot spots" in the skiing world. My all time favorite is Lake Tahoe (Kirkwood). It has a beauty that is second to none, that I have found yet, but I'm still searching.

Lets not forget hunting in the fall, ice fishing in the winter, traveling any time to anywhere, camping, swiming, hiking, and just hanging out with my friends and family.
