Community Involvement

I enjoy working on special projects in the community. I am currently the chairperson for The Hart Skate Park. Organizing and fundraising for the construction of a local park. I have two boys and recognize the need for recreational opportunities for our youth. In todays video world I hope to see our kids get active outdoors. In this position I wrote my first grant which awarded us $5000 from the Tony Hawk Foundation. That grant was matched by the City of Hart and so it began. We are now on our way to $40,000 and hope to break ground in the spring of 2008.

I am also chair of the scholarship committee for the Mason Oceana Manistee Board of REALTORS. I helped to establish the scholarship fund in 2006 and remain active in fundraising and choosing scholarship recipients from our local high schools.

Personal Interests

I enjoy spending time with my family. In the summer we try to enjoy Pentwater as much as possible. Sunset walks to the beach are always at the top of my list followed by ice cream on the corner on the way out of town. Baseball games are also a common summer activity as it is my oldest son's favorite high school sport. Fall leads us to Football season where my youngest son takes the field.

My husband and I are also huge NASCAR fans and try to take in a race each season. Indianapolis is our favorite stop. Home of the Brickyard 400 and The Slippery Noodle Inn, the oldest bar in Indianapolis featuring great blues bands.
