Carp Lake is a township located on the western shore of Paradise Lake in Emmet
County. Paradise Lake provides excellent fishing for walleyes, rock
bass, yellow perch, small & large mouth bass, Northern pike, rock
bass, and sunfish. Paradise Lake is also popular with boaters. The
village was founded by Octave Terrian, given a station on the Grand
Rapids & Indiana Railroad, and on January 27, 1880, a post office
with Alpheus B. Hendricks as its first postmaster.
