The Inland Waterway is Michigan's longest chain of rivers and lakes. The route is more than 40 miles long and runs through Pickerel Lake, Crooked Lake, the Crooked River, Burt Lake, the Indian River, Mullett Lake, the Cheboygan River, and finally into Lake Huron.
The majority of the Inland Waterway can handle boats up to 65 feet in length (18 foot beam) and up to a 5 foot draft. There are three bridges along the route that do not open, two bridges that do open, and two locks.
