Traverse City's real estate market has vastly improved and should follow the national trends of improvement in 2010. I have closed on a $24,000 home in Manistee, $168,000 home in downtown Traverse City, a $128,000 home in Lake Ann, $75,000 home in Frankfort, and $89,000 home in Traverse City since 11/1/09. I also have a $100,000 home in Long Lake Township, $200,000 home in Lake Ann, and $440,000 home in Peninsula Township all under contract and scheduled to close before the clock strikes 2010. This means the market has really picked up and will hopefully continue to climb when the snow finally flies. The warm weather we have been experiencing has helped. November days in the 60's helps buyers stay motivated and helps waterfront buyers see what they are buying. The extension of the first time home buyers tax credit ($8,000) and the creation of the $6,500 tax credit to buyers who have owned their home for five years will also help.
I have recently traveled to Seattle, WA where I met my niece Charlotte for the first time since she was born on August, 2 2009. My wife April and I got to witness my sister Robin and her husband Matt parenting their butts off. They have a beautiful family and we were grateful to share four awesome days with them. Then we traveled to the Empire Polo Grounds outside of Indio, CA. we had the privalege of watching Phish perform three nights of concert bliss including Halloween where they covered the entire Rolling Stones album "Exile on Main Street." What an incredible experience.
Looking forward I cannot wait for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and ice fishing. These events will give me some valuable times with family and friends that I don't get to see every day. I am also looking forward to a productive 2010 and talking to many Realtors about joining the Coldwell Banker/Schmidt Realtors Family. Cheers and have a great end of 2009!
