Welcome to my Website
My first visit to the Petoskey and Harbor Springs area was in 1966, on our honeymoon. I fell in love with the area and knew that this was where I wanted to live. Luckily for me my husband, Mike, agreed. We moved here soon after. We have lived and worked in these communities ever since. I have raised three sons here and they now return every year with their families. I have been selling real estate in Harbor Springs and Petoskey for 20 years. I would love to share my experience and knowledge with you.
I graduated from Immaculata High School in Detroit, Michigan. I attended Borgess School of Nursing in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I am a practicing Realtor in both Michigan and Florida.
I started my professional life as a Registered Nurse. I once read a study which stated that retired nurses and teachers make the best Realtors. I do think that my listening, teaching, and "people" skills honed while nursing have been invaluable. I am also trained to be a detail person which is essential in Real Estate.
I am licensed here in Michigan and in Vero Beach, Florida. I have been selling vacation homes, retirement homes, first homes, "luxury" resort properties, down sized homes, upscaled homes and lots for nearly two decades in two of the most desirable and gorgeous areas in the country.
Because I live and work in two beautiful vacation areas (Harbor Springs and Vero Beach, Fl.) I have extensive experience in luxury homes, second homes, retirement homes, vacation homes, cottages, condos, and down sizing. I love working with first time home buyers because of their enthusiasm and excitement. I enjoy finding the perfect last home for older buyers. Having just missed being a baby boomer I can relate very well to their needs. Finding great investment properties is also a fun challenge for me.
I have been a resident of Harbor Springs and Petoskey for close to forty years. I worked in the Obstetrics Department at Northern Michigan Hospital and taught childbirth classes for several years. My children attended St. Francis School where I was on the board and the President of the Parent-Teacher Association for five years. My husband, Mike Rahaley, was a partner and the first Director of Tennis at The Little Traverse Raquet Club. (the areas first indoor tennis club) He continues to teach tennis in the area at several private clubs. Through our involvement in the community at these basic levels we've established deep roots and connections which we continue to nurture and treasure. Because of my real estate business I have established many professional friends. To say it simply, I have been around for a very long time.
In spite of my grand mother status I have always kept up with the advantages that technology has given us. I have an iphone and an ipad, I am computer literate, I text, and I am available at a moments notice. These traits are very important to a "younger" buyer. I do feel it important to point out that my experience and my age gives me, a more mature Realtor, a certain edge.
My interests include art, movies, reading, cultural events, walking, yoga, entertaining, cooking, time spent with friends, and, most importantly, family. We have three sons who are all married to wonderful women. They have provided us with five grandsons and one granddaughter. Grandchildren are the most fun I have ever had in my life, and I have a very fun life!
