The temperature has cooled down and the smell of fall is in the air. I get excited when the seasons change from summer to fall, it’s something I look forward to each year. I also love getting out and enjoying all the area activities that happen this time of year! There is a lot of events going on now through October. I have compiled a list of just some of the fun events around Oceana County for you to enjoy! If you happen to see me at one of these events stop over and say hello!
September 14-15 – Mears
Apple & BBQ Festival - Come enjoy this Fall Festival highlighting the Michigan BBQ, farm fresh apples of Oceana County, and much more. September 15 – New Era
New Era Fall Street Festival- 8am -3:30 pm The New Era Fall Street Festival consists of an arts and crafts fair, entertainment by local bands and performers, children's activities, early morning yoga, an antique car show, and food booths.
The arts and crafts fair will include many different booths including pumpkins, jewelry, homemade towels and dish cloths, wooden toys, doll clothes, knitting, crocheting, blankets, bake sales items, and much more.
September 16 – Shelby
Tastes & Sounds of Oceana County – Everyone is welcome from 4-7 to join in on the fun, downtown Shelby for Live Music, Kids games and local food vendors. Tickets at the event are $10 per person or 35 per family.
September 22- 23 – New Era
Autumn Festival @ Lewis Farms & Petting Zoo - Celebrate Autumn with live entertainment, pig races, Disc Dogs of Michigan, face painting, and a candy shoot! September 22 & 23 – Pentwater
28th Annual Fall Fest- Art & Craft Fair - Over 100 vendors provide hand-made crafts, a special skill or art, a skilled trade or antiques on the Village Green. They will have live music on the green. This is a weekend not to miss.
October 6 – Mears
Hippie Fest @ Val-Du-Lakes - Hippie Fest is the grooviest festival of the year! Featuring hundreds of artists and crafts people, local goods, bohemian shopping, live music, cirque performers, DIY tie-dye, sideshow acts, food trucks and more! All ages welcome. Fun for the whole family!!!
October 12-13 – Pentwater
Annual Oktoberfest/ Annual Classic Car and Hot Rod Show- Pentwater, Michigan's Oktoberfest is growing bigger every fall. Activities start Friday night and wrap up on Saturday. There are activities for all ages and many interests. Find the schedule of events and times by Visiting Pentwater.org

October 13 – Montague
Pumpkinfest - October 13th is the date for the Annual Pumpkinfest Celebration, featuring the well-known PUMPKIN ROLL down Dowling in downtown Montague, Michigan! Pumpkinfest includes a full-day of family-friendly and many pumpkin-inspired events and contests including the pumpkin roll, pumpkin painting and carving, pumpkin seed spitting contest, pumpkin weigh-ins, hay rides, bake sale, apple cider mill, face painting, food vendors, Farmer’s Market, Arts & Crafts fair, and more! This unique festival is always a local favorite! The Arts and Crafts Festival runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with crafters displaying a variety of goods. Shop the marketplace with various vendors and artists selling items including holiday decorations, jewelry, clothing, photography, wood crafts, food dips, and more. Also visit the Farmer’s Market and the apple cider mill, along with local food vendors for a variety of fall foods and decorations.

Trick or Treating with Pentwater’ Downtown Merchants – 12-2 pm
Spooktacular Parade – 1:00pm
Come to the 11th Annual Halloween Spooktacular Parade downtown Pentwater. There should be several ghosts, goblins, monsters and more. The Pentwater Band will be marching. Consider being in the parade too. It is open to school classes, individuals, families, merchants and pets. Be as creative as you like, making floats or simply come in a costume, the parents are of course welcome to walk with the kids. The main rule is to be in the Halloween Spirit and have fun! Line up at Charlie's Marina between 12:30pm - 12:45pm
