Sales numbers from the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors for the month of October were up 16% over October 2008. Sales were strongest in the $100,000 to $140,000 price range. The first time buyer credit of $8000 obviously was a large stimulus to the gain. With the extension of the credit and the addition of the $6500 credit for existing homeowners sales numbers are predicted to continue their strong showing. Current homeowners looking to move up are in a good position with the buyer market strong and the available credit. See the full story here.
