It is getting very snowy and cold here in West Michigan and winter is not even here yet! I was contacted by a friend the other day to suggest to me ways to keep warm in the Winter months and keep heating costs down. Make sure to check for broken or leaky windows. Close the fireplace down when not in use so the cold air doesn't come down the chimney into your house. Make sure to seal up any leaks and cracks you might have in your foundation. (I like to use the spray foam in a can.) And remember to check under your doors. When the wind blows and the temperature drops remember to dress warm and when traveling make sure you have boots, gloves and a warm coat and hat. If you end up having to walk or get stuck in the ditch you will need to stay warm until help arrives!
