Spring is nearly among us here in Marquette Michigan, you can feel it in the air. It is so nice to be able to get out and enjoy the fresh air after the cold winter we have had.
The bike path along Lakeshore Drive is nearly clear of snow with bicyclists out in force. For those of you new to the area or who do not know, the bike path is paved all around the city of Marquette. The path does a great loop from downtown Marquette, along the lake shore to Hawley St (or even all the way around Presque Isle), through NMU's campus near the Jacobetti Center and NMU Public Safety, crosses Wright Street, up past the Upper Peninsula Medical Center/Fair Avenue, past Family Video and the busy stop light/intersection, behind McDonalds, and back to downtown. Now, this is not the only route to take, the trail system also heads up towards Negaunee, out to Harvey, and up County Road 510 (connects with biking trails). This is a very popular route for walkers, runners, and bikers alike. It is a great route and a lot safer then the busy streets. See image for a link to the city map of the bike path:
It is time again to get out and enjoy what our beautiful city has to offer! Summer is a great time to be in Marquette Michigan!
