Growing up my fondest memories were vacationing in the Upper Peninsula. Since 1975 I have owned a summer cottage on Marquette Island, part of the Les Cheneaux Islands, and have had the privilege of summering there with my family. In 1997 I gave up living the "big city life" in the Washington DC area and moved to the Les Cheneaux where I presently live with my husband and new dog Shiloh, a friendly labradoodle. We have five grown children and ten fun loving grandchildren. I am pursuing a lifelong goal of living in the U.P. and devoting a full time career to selling real estate and pleasure boats. I have found this to be a winning combination.
After graduating from Bowling Green University I obtained a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Kent State University then began a teaching career. Having always had a passion for boats and boating I left education and entered into the boat business where I had various positions in sales. marketing, management and even obtained a U.S. Coast Guard License for Hire, commonly called a "Captain's License". In 1994 I became licensed in real estate in Michigan and transitioned my business, counseling and teaching skills into the world of real estate. In 2003 I earned the Associate Broker designation, followed by a Previews Property Specialist (upper end homes) and Home Staging designation.
With an interest in county govenment and a committment to the betterment of our area I was elected in 2011 to serve as a Mackinac County Commissioner. I also serve on several other professional boards including Eastern Upper Peninsula Board of Realtors.
