for April at The State:

CEDAR RAPIDS an indie film that I just saw at the State. It was so enjoyable. Just picture a young naive 30 something insurance agent from Maple City, who has never been to Chicago,a plane ride or stayed at a hotel. It's his first experience for many things. He rooms with some really fun loving agents and makes some great moves. Lots of great lines and laughs.

Just saw WASTELAND (The Bay Series Movie)
Renowned artist, Vik Muniz films this most inspiring, dark and interesting documentary. He shows the Brazillian garage pickers who pick over the world's largest recyling landfill in Rio de Janeiro. He photographs these amazing people and uses garbage to make incredible photos for art museums and art collectors. All money that is raised is in a trust to help the people he has worked with during this time.WOW!

NETFLIX:

HACHI: A DOGS TALE If you love great dog stories this is a MUST SEE! When his master,( Richard Gere) dies, this loyal dog keeps a regular vigil for more than 10 years at the train station where he always greeted the man everyday. The local workers and friends at the station are an endearing part of the film. This is based on a true story. Since I really love dogs, I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTO
THIS IS THE FIRST IN THE STIEG LARSSON TRIO
OF MOVIES ABOUT a Swedish journalist and a brillant, rebellious, abused and angry computer hacker. What a great thriller. 4 out of 5 stars English subtitles.

THE BIG LEBOWSKI Starring Jeff Bridges,John Goodman,Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Julianna Moore. Directed and written by Joel and Ethan Coen. I thought I would really like this movie since it is a cult comedy classic. But it never really grabbed me. It's about mistaken identity, bowling and someone being held for ransom. Don't ask me anymore, because it lost me early in the movie. 2.5 out of 5 stars
