Financing Preapproval Before Shopping for a New Home

You've missed out again.  Nothing is so disappointing than finding a home you love, and to miss out on that home because you did not have a preapproval letter to submit with your offer.  Another buyer can submit and receive an accepted an offer in the few days it can take to get the preapproval.  Don't let this happen to you.  Contact a mortgage lender at your bank, credit union, or an independent mortgage broker to establish what type of mortgage will be best for you before you start looking at homes.  Your agent needs to know the type of mortgage before the offer is written.  In some cases, the seller will be asked to contribute concessions which saves you money!  An agent can provide a list of lenders in your area if you need assistance.
