Schmidt Family of Companies Announces Two Exciting Changes With The Firms Organization

Fred Schmidt Jr. is transitioning from Director of Technology for the Schmidt Family of Companies to Managing Broker of our firm's downtown Elk Rapids, Michigan office. Fred has served as the Director of Technology since 2003 and has been responsible for the technological growth of the company while staying abreast of major changes in real estate technologies.  Fred will continue to assist the company as the technology department evolves, but his primary focus will be to lead our Elk Rapids office and help our agents grow their businesses.

Fred is a graduate of Northwood University with degrees in Business Management and Finance. He became a Realtor in 1990 and is a Designated GRI (Graduate of the Real Estate Institute). We couldn't be more excited to have him take his extensive experience and successful real estate career to our Elk Rapids office.

Carrie Skomp is now the Director of Operations for the Schmidt Family of Companies. In this role, she will oversee the day to day operations side of the company while working closely with the leadership teams in Michigan, Ohio, Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands for the company's continued quest for operational excellence. She will be actively supporting all departments of the company - Technology, Marketing, Relocation, Human Resources and Accounting to ensure consistency with our systems and processes. In this role, she will continue to support Ken and Mike Schmidt, but will have a broader role as she will be directly supporting our other departments.

Carrie has 20 years of experience in real estate administration crossing multiple departments. During her career, she has worked at four other real estate firms, including another Coldwell Banker franchise. The last 5 years, Carrie has more than proven herself with the Schmidt Family of Companies and we couldn't be more excited to have her in this role.
